Nordic Embassy Wedding Photographer, Berlin, Germany

These shots are from an intimate ceremony at the Nordic Embassy building in Berlin, and a portrait shoot at locations in the Tiergarten and nearby streets.

Gard, from Norway, and Bitte, from Sweden, eloped to Berlin for a few days to marry (and shop for vinyl) before heading back to Oslo for a weekend party for friends and family.

The week before their elopement I went to scout the area to get some ideas together for the post-ceremony portrait session, and once I got there, I knew we were going to get some special shots. The surrounding streets have a lot of options for playing with light and shade if the sun’s out (which it was), and the architecture of the Nordic Embassy complex itself is very interesting, with a unique form. Right next to it is the Mexican Embassy, which has a concrete facade dominated by horizontal and diagonal lines, and the Tiergarten is just across the road, so we could easily get some leafy shots too. We didn’t even get to the Bauhaus Archive, another fine-looking building also on the same street, in the time we had together. Truly the area is a playground for portrait photography!

It was a fun shoot and I wish them both health, happiness, and good tunes for their future together!
